A Melbourne network services company is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to support business connectivity, escalated incidents and network improvement work. This onsite role suits someone with five years of network experience who can troubleshoot confidently, assess change risk and guide junior technicians when issues require deeper investigation. You will work across switching, routing, wireless, VPN, firewall policy, documentation and customer network support. The position requires a logical troubleshooting approach, careful change control, strong communication with service teams and the ability to maintain accurate technical records for supported environments.

Essential criteria:

• Five years of IT or network support experience involving business connectivity and network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless, VPNs and firewall concepts.
• Ability to investigate LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, internet, firewall and remote-access issues using a structured process.
• Experience collecting logs, configuration details, packet-level evidence and customer impact information.
• Ability to maintain network diagrams, site records, change notes and customer documentation.
• Commitment to following change-control, backup, approval and rollback procedures before network updates.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Palo Alto, Meraki or similar platforms.
• Networking, security or vendor certification.
• Experience supporting multi-site businesses, managed services customers or project deployments.
