A Melbourne IT consulting firm is looking for an IT Consultant to assist business clients with technology improvements, support escalations and small project delivery. This hybrid role suits someone with five years of broad IT experience who can communicate confidently with clients while remaining practical and hands-on. You will help assess requirements, recommend suitable solutions, document agreed actions and work with technical teams to deliver improvements across Microsoft 365, cloud, desktop and infrastructure services. The position requires commercial awareness, clear communication and the ability to balance customer expectations with realistic technical outcomes.

Essential criteria:

• Five years of experience in IT support, consulting, systems administration, cloud support or managed services delivery.
• Ability to discuss customer requirements, clarify problems and translate them into practical technical actions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, user platforms, cloud services and common networking concepts.
• Experience preparing clear documentation, recommendations, meeting notes and implementation handover material.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
• Ability to manage priorities, follow up actions and maintain professional client communication.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Azure, Intune, security baselines or Microsoft 365 governance.
• Experience supporting pre-sales discovery, service reviews or project scoping.
• Relevant Microsoft, networking, security or ITIL certification.
