A Sydney business technology team is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to assist with security monitoring, user-focused protection tasks and basic incident response. This remote role suits someone with three years of IT experience and practical exposure to security tools or security-related support work. You will review suspicious email reports, MFA issues, endpoint alerts, access-related concerns and security tickets while working with IT support teams to apply remediation steps. The role requires curiosity, careful evidence handling, clear notes and the discipline to follow approved response procedures before escalating high-risk events.

Essential criteria:

• Three years of experience in IT support, systems support or a junior security-focused role.
• Ability to review security alerts and collect relevant evidence for assessment or escalation.
• Understanding of MFA, endpoint protection, suspicious email handling and common user security risks.
• Experience documenting incidents with affected users, systems, timestamps, symptoms and actions taken.
• Willingness to follow approved response procedures and escalate confirmed or high-risk events quickly.
• Ability to handle information confidentially and follow privacy, security and evidence-handling requirements.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Microsoft Defender, SIEM tools, phishing simulations or vulnerability scanning.
• Understanding of identity protection, secure password practices and common attack techniques.
• Security certification study or interest in SOC analyst career progression.
